OnePlus Nord N100 Deals
The OnePlus Nord N100 targets to deliver good value for money with an enormous battery, 90Hz panel, and Oxygen OS. it is a decent plan to continue with the competition. However, to realize this, it heavily compromises its camera, design, and performance. Ultimately, there are better options out there that will not need replacing as quickly.
OnePlus has typically made phones for enthusiasts. These devices have super speed, big displays, and are made with high-quality materials. Its flagship phones have also been steadily increasing in price annually. The OnePlus Nord N100 swings in completely the other direction. At $179, it’s the most cost-effective smartphone ever sold by the corporate. Has OnePlus created the simplest ultra-budget phone you’ll buy?
Price and release date
So far, OnePlus has only revealed release information for the N100’s US release, promising that it’ll arrive on November 10 for the low price of $179 (around $233 supported conversion rates). The phone is going to be coming to the US at some point in the near future, though OnePlus hasn’t told us exactly when, or what proportion the phone is going to be.
Hopefully, the OnePlus Nord N100 will arrive before the vacation and since US prices include tax. it’ll be slightly but the converted price suggests.
OnePlus Nord N100: design, display, and camera
The one thing OnePlus hasn’t changed up is the design. The N100 comes with an identical design to the 8T and packs a 6.52-inch display and a triple-lens camera system.
Screen resolution hasn’t been announced just yet, and there is no official word on the refresh rate. With OnePlus trumpeting the 90Hz refresh rate on the N10 5G, though. It’s safe to assume the N100 will offer a typical 60Hz refresh rate on a phone. As for resolution, we’d guess something within the neighborhood of HD/720p.
The camera array packs a 13MP main lens, plus a bokeh and macro lens for a “more dynamic shooting experience”. There’s also one hole-punch camera on the front of the phone, with an unspecified resolution.
Finally, the OnePlus seems to ditch the in-display fingerprint scanner. In favor of a physical fingerprint scanner on the rear of the OnePlus N100.
The N100 is out there in a single color, dubbed Midnight Frost. That’s dark gray when translated into English.
OnePlus Nord N100: Oxygen OS
It’s hard to be excited about a few phones that ship with Android 10 in 2021. But Oxygen OS definitely elicits an enthusiastic response. For the uninitiated, OnePlus’s custom skin makes Android more useful and stylish without weighing. It down with many unnecessary apps.
The interface provides a variety of customization options, an improved Quick Settings menu, and a couple of apps (such as Gallery and File Manager) that give Android stock options a run of their money. There’s also Zen mode Which allows you to hamper by locking.
Your phone and disabling notifications for a predetermined amount of your time, and Reading mode. Which provides you the choice of toning down the display’s colors or switching to grayscale for more eye-friendly reading.
An Android 11 upgrade is within the cards for the N100 at some point in the future. But additional upgrades aren’t guaranteed. It’s disappointing to ascertain that OnePlus does not offer equivalent robust software update programs. You’ll find it on Android One phones or most of Samsung’s Galaxy A series, but it’s not surprising.
OnePlus Nord N100: Battery and Charging
The OnePlus N100 comes with a rather impressive 5,000 mAh battery, which is larger than any OnePlus flagship has offered. Couple that with 18W fast charging, and you’ve got quite a substantial offering on such an inexpensive device.
OnePlus Nord N100: Connectivity
The Snapdragon 460 doesn’t include a 5G modem the way the Snapdragon 690 within the N10 5G does. And OnePlus hasn’t said anything to make us suspect there is a workaround. So expect LTE connectivity for the Nord N100.
OnePlus Nord N100: Software
While the OnePlus 8T comes with Oxygen OS 11, itself supported Android 11, the Nord N100 comes with Oxygen OS 10.5, which uses an older version of Android. it isn’t clear why, but Oxygen 10.5 may be a perfectly solid OS and comes with all the equivalent features you’d find on other devices running it.
That includes Zen Mode, Dark Mode, and customization options that permit you to tweak the planning of just about everything on your phone.
The OnePlus Nord N100 hits a desperately needed sweet spot for budget phone Consumers. It impresses with Excellent solid performance, a bright and vivid display, and long battery life. On the flip side, its cameras are mediocre, LTE band support might be better, and therefore the thin plastic backplate feels cheap.
If you’re willing to spend up to $300, choose the OnePlus Nord N10 5G winner for budget phones away from the more capable option with 5G. But the N100 handily outpaces the Moto G Play and each other US phone that sells for fewer than $200.
