Is this the decline of Samsung? Likely not. But it is a slow decline of my loyalty and admiration for Samsung. As a techie enthusiast and a general user, like many others, I get excited each year over the prospect of the next great thing that will help me live my life and manage my day. Samsung has been a part of that center. But, IMHO, Samsung has slowly declined since the S10 Plus. "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." Harvey Dent, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. Samsung embodies this. Originally touting itself as the anti-Apple and speaking to guys like me. My relationship with Samsung started with the S3. But I did switch to the LG G3 afterwards and skipped the S4 & S5, as I felt Samsung didn't have all I needed. LG was the rebel underdog I had cheered for. I admired LG for it's bold creative and innovative ideas every year, but they just didn't execute and deliver -- the price of LG was the failure to be practical. So, I slowly gravitated towards Samsung Galaxy, after the LG G3, (notable is the LG G3 was absolutely the best and legendary phone), I owned Samsung in this progression: Note 3, S3, Note 4, S6 Edge, Note 5, S7 Edge, S8, Note 8, S9, Note 9, S10 Plus, Note 10 Plus, S20 Plus, Note 20 Ultra, and now the S20 Ultra. Samsung was the company that I trusted each year to delivery "counter-Apple" features that consumers asked for and wanted, and set itself apart with Android customization, Headphone Jack, Expandable Storage, IR Blaster, Heart Rate Sensor, and MST Payments, just a few I LOVED about Samsung. In addition, the perk of Samsung was you always knew you would get the absolute best panels. What I long for was Samsung to fix their software shell, which they did with One UI. Then I had wanted them to fix their speaker game which they did with AKG tuning. They it was battery life, which One UI helped with and optimization as well as larger battery. It was looking good. The S10 Plus was the peak of Samsung and the slow decline since. The S10 Plus had still the headphone jack, MST payments, heart rate sensor. After the S10, I had hoped for better battery life, higher refresh rate, better button placement, improved in screen finger print scanner and keep everything else, earphone jack, MST payments, heart rate sensor. We thrived on mocking Apple having gotten rid of the headphone jack then. But then the slow decline of Samsung's identity, and the shift.Note10Plus - the head phone jack disappeared. MST disappeared.S20 Plus/Note 120 Plus - the heart rate sensor disappearedS21 Ultra - the expandable storage is gone and also the charger and headphones. All those little things that made Samsung unique is now gone. They had become the villain. Is the S21 Ultra a great phone, compared to the competitors, absolutely yes, but at the cost of so many identifiable unique Samsung features that leave me no longer loyal to Samsung. This is a 180 strategic positioning of Samsung that leaves me open to other companies now. However, with the competition thinning, I hated to hear LG is no longer in the game. So, it leaves Apple, Motorola, OPPO, Xaomi, One Plus, and only a short list. I'm looking at switching to Apple, I can't believe it.Should you buy the Samsung Ultra, upgrade, etc?If you already have an S10, S10 Plus, Note 10 Plus, S20 series, the answer is NO. Save your money, and consider your phone to still be very capable. In fact, if you can get the S10 Plus, S20 Plus, or Note 20 Ultra,I still kept my S10 Plus and S20 Plus and will continue to use it. I will keep my S21 Ultra, but only as a back up. That's right! A brand new flagship, as a backup. The S21 Ultra is too big, bulky, and doesn't deliver enough compared to either my S10 Plus or S20 plus. My daily driver is the S20 Plus. I do carry 2 phones, the S20 Plus and the Note 20 Ultra. Despite having dramatic nostalgia over what could've been, I long for the days of the S10 plus and dream of Samsung building up from that. Even the S20 lost the heart rate sensor and headphone jack, but it was negotiated with a great panel and high refresh rate at 120hz with great battery performance, good camera set up, one hand usability, 120hz panel, etc.. The S21 Ultra just doesn't deliver enough, the battery life is great, but the usability doesn't outpace the S20 Plus. Too many sacrifices plague the S21 Series. Going back to 2020, what the heck was up with the Note 20 basic model. And btw, I don't care about the S-pen compatibility on the S21 Ultra. That's what the Note series is for and btw, I hear Samsung might cancel the Note series, it appears Samsung is going through strategic shift to their foldables and other innovative screen form factors. Let's see what the future holds. For the year 2021, it's a disappointing January so far, and I DO NOT recommend the S21 Ultra. My best advice is the get the S10 Plus or S20 Plus. The S20 Ultra was and is still a fiasco.
Received the phone today and upon opening it, they include the C cable but don't give you the wall charger to plug it in. My old phone didn't use a C cable so the charger won't work with the new cable. The phone was over $1200 and they can't give you a charger? Now I had to pay an additional $17 for one and I can't use the phone I waited weeks for till the charger arrives next week. Good bye Samsung, nickel and dime someone else cause this will be my last purchase.
Buyer beware: eSIM and dual SIM is not supported on any of the US versions of the S21 even though Samsung told us it had it AND it was useable. So, just for the record, every US version of SAMSUNG phone that has been releases after the Note 10 DOES NOT support eSIM or dual sim, which is definitely a no go for those of us trying to use the same phone for work and personal activities.

At $200 off, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is at its lowest price yet. It packs everything we love about the Galaxy S21 into a much bigger body. It bumps you up to a 6.8-inch AMOLED Display, 12GB of RAM, and a high capacity 5,000mAh battery. As far as mobile deals go, this is often a good discount.

Update 8/31/20 IF YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE YOUR WIRED AKG headphones, it's because Samsung decided not to add it to the box for US customers.Call Samsung USA at (800) 726-7864 to request yours for free, it's a bit of a hassle, but they sent mine at the end. You haven't been scammed if you don't find the wired headphones in the box!Original review: I say it's the best, with a grain of salt, read the cons to know why!To start off, Samsung did an amazing job with this phone, so much that they rendered the fairly new, still very expensive, S20 Ultra, almost obsolete! But I'm not gonna review both units here, so for those of you looking for quick pros & cons, here you go.Pros:- AMAZING display, I had so many high end phones, including the IPhone 11 pro max and Google Pixel 4XL & even the note 10, but this screen here bests all of them. The high refresh rate, the beautiful colors, and the better ratio (it's a little wider than the S20 ultra for example), all this makes for an outstanding screen.- Great main camera. The pictures are just perfect in almost all light conditions. I dunno how much better is the 108 MP mode, it bothered me a little that cropping a 108 MP picture didn't yield the perfect result, but all in all, the camera is top notch, in all its modes. The videos are even better. You won't find a phone with a better main camera on the market.- The S pen is pretty useful for taking notes! I didn't feel like I needed it for anything else except, may be, for a selfie, so eventhough it isn't the biggest selling point, it's worth mentioning.- It looks great! Yup, design wise, that phone looks really good, that it feels bad putting any covers on it. I personally just ordered a very slim, transparent case & I wouldn't recommend anything else. There are some added gimmicky features that you can find almost everywhere online, but I personally loved the direct share, where I can show anything I want from my phone and cast it to a smart TV or one with a Google chrome cast attached to it, it happened a lot before that I needed to show many people at the same time, whatever it is that was on my phone, photos or a certain app, and that feature here makes it so easy.Cons:- I dunno how this isn't mentioned anywhere, but the selfie camera isn't great at all in low light conditions. Yes in the morning, outdoor, it is very good, but other than that it's just not great! I could see myself buying the next Google Pixel instead, just for this.- Battery life isn't good enough either. It's worse than my S20 Ultra, and it was no surprise, since Samsung decided to give this phone a smaller battery 🙄I find myself charging it twice a day, which really isn't practical.Just for those 2 points, added to the fact that it's a super expensive phone, I had to give it 4 stars. Now if it gets the Google Pixel software for the selfie camera, and a full day of battery life that would have been the best phone ever made! But I guess we'll have to wait for next year for that!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I got this on launch day and it had a defect where the S pen wasn't registering in a large circular area on the screen. Amazon sent me a replacement and it had the exact same failure. I'm done with it. I've had 2 other notes in the past and loved them, but having this almost $1500 phone fail right out of the box is where my love of the Note ends.IMPORTANT EDIT: I Noticed this same issue occurring with my Note 10+ after I returned this phone (twice). This phenomenon was being caused by a Steelie magnetic mount on the back of the case. So if you are using a magnetic mount or have the phone close to a magnetic field, you will encounter this exact same issue.I have changed the review score to reflect this new information.
I do not recommend buying. the charger stopped working after just 2 hours of use. and did not bring the headphones.

As 2020 brought us a lot of bad things, some good things were the variety of new phones on the market in the last few months. This is my first time with a OnePlus phone and their brand has been recognized more of the years. I needed a new upgrade over the S9+ due to dead pixels at the top. I am not going to go too far into this, but when you have a SnapDragon 865 with 5G, 120 Hz Panel, In Display Fingerprint Reader, 256 Storage, 12gb Ram, a 65 Watt Charger (IN THE BOX *cough cough apple*), for 750 dollars that already tells me this value is very decent! Don't always fall for the reviewers on YouTube. They have been negative due to "wireless charging". Like really? It is less effective than wired charging and plus like I said, you get a 65 watt charger. It has a few flaws for sure, but nothing crazy and it feels like a flagship for sure!
This happened twice now, mayor huge issue at the warehouse.I received the model KB2001 which is the Indian version. The American version is KB2005.The phone came with the manufacturer wrap and the amazon ASIN B08KXB3R7S number sticker. This is a warning to all people who already bought this phone, and also people considering buying. The phone might work in the US, but will not work to its full potential, and in some situations would not work at all.
I just wanted a cheaper phone since I broke my Samsung and boy I got something more! This phone is snappy and responsive. For it's price range it feels like a flagship 1000 plus phone. Very light phone too. This phone is perfect for people on the go. This phone does not have wireless charging but man does it have something better. Warp charging charges this phone in 30 plus minutes making wireless charging useless. I hope to keep this phone as long as I can.
